-- Law professor Carol Bruch will be honored by the University of Basel, Switzerland, in November, when she will receive an honorary doctoral degree. Bruch, chair of the doctoral program in human development at UC Davis, was nominated for the distinction by the Basel law faculty. She is being recognized for her innovative and rigorous scholarship in family law and comparative law. Bruch, who joined the UC Davis faculty in 1973, is a leading scholar in the fields of nonmarital cohabitation, marital property, domestic and international child custody law, and child and spousal support.
